THOR

Both of the Davies Shelters are now approved “Structured Housing” sites for the Transitional Housing for Offender Reentry (THOR) program for inmates and returning citizens under DCS supervision. As per DSC THOR program guidelines:

  • THOR participants must identify and contact a site on their own
  • THOR participants are required to pay directly for their stay
  • THOR participants do not need to seek out DCS approval or assignment
  • THOR participants are required to find and maintain employment
  • THOR participants are not required by DCS to attend substance misuse services (meetings) or seek substance misuse counseling, but they may be required per their case plan with the Davies Shelters

LOOKING FOR SHELTER?

How It Works

  • Each guest begins by meeting with a case manager at least once a week.
  • During the first meeting, the guest and case manager customize a case plan using SMART goals
  • Guests progress through a three-phase system earning privileges as they progress.
  • Guests are guaranteed a place to stay for at least 90 days, as long as they actively work toward positive change and are following shelter guidelines.

01.

Beds at The Davies Shelter are “first come first serve” Due to the demand of on beds, we do not reserve spaces. Call the shelter in advance to see if there are any beds available before coming by as the shelter is often at capacity

02.

For the safety and health of our guests and staff, it is recommended that each guest have their Covid-19 and Flu Shots. Visit the local health department to get up to date on your immunizations

03.

Arrive at the shelter for a tour and intake evaluation. Guests will meet with a case manager upon entry and complete their orientation and have personal items and medications checked
