About Us

About Us

Founded in 2003, the William S. Davies Homeless Shelters meet the critical need in Rome for a transitional shelter - a critical step beyond an emergency shelter that provides guests a safe environment and the tools to work toward stability.

Safe Environment

We believe people experiencing homelessness need a safe environment before they can begin to make their lives whole again. At our men's shelter and women's shelter, we provide a safe environment for extended periods of time while guests work toward stability.

Individualized Casework

Various factors lead to homelessness — job loss, eviction, family tragedy, addiction, domestic violence, a major health condition, and more. Each of our guests work with an in-house caseworker to develop an individualized plan to meet their goals.

Help with Transition

We are constantly working on new ways to help guests transition to stability. Through partnerships with other nonprofits, we are developing transitional employment programs, transitional housing opportunities, and innovative efforts to tackle the root causes of homelessness.
